Event Volunteer
Posted for Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust
You will attend a Welcome meeting with the
Engagement & Volunteer Manager where you will be introduced to Delapré
Abbey Preservation Trust and provided with information on the role. This will
be followed by your first volunteering session which will become your
“induction” – this includes an induction of the building and attending a
History Tour of the abbey, following this you will attend a further 3 induction
sessions.
In this role, they are looking for people who are willing to:
- Help deliver and support events throughout the year including weddings
- Be responsible for a designated event, activity or session
- Be confident in talking to a variety of different people
- Be a general helper at events or act as a main deliverer
Principle tasks involved:
- Delivering events to varied audiences and target groups in community and comercial activities
- Creating friendly and informal events, as well as professional and specialised ones
- Lifting, moving and storing furniture and equipment from one location to another
- Helping with the set-up and pack-down for weddings and events
- Being a guide and/or manning the car park areas

This means you have responsibility for ensuring that visitors take part in a high-quality event and you are gaining satisfaction and experience from volunteering. The Trust relies on volunteers to provide added quality and extra special service to visitors,events, whether commercial or community based, and are key to their vision and need help to ensure that each and every one is run to a high standard. As such, they are looking for animated, friendly, organised people to help form a group of event volunteers that can be relied upon.
