IT Buddy

We are looking for an IT Buddy to assist customers with our public access computers, printer, photocopier and any other IT queries they may have. The role also includes helping customers with appointments for Blue Badge applications.

Libraries have always been gateways to knowledge, but in today’s digital age, access to information increasingly depends on technology. Many people, especially older adults, job seekers or those with limited digital skills, can feel excluded when services, opportunities and communication move online.

This is where IT Buddies play a vital role. By offering one-to-one support, patient guidance and practical help with computers, smartphones and online tools, IT Buddies empower library users to build confidence and independence. Their support not only bridges the digital divide but also ensures that libraries remain inclusive, welcoming spaces where everyone can participate fully in the digital world.

Skills

Confident in using desktop computers, laptops, smartphones and other IT devices.

Able to seek assistance for customers online.
