Ward Volunteer: • Spend time with patients, offering friendly conversation and a listening ear • Chat/read with patients who may not have visitors • Support with hydration by offering drinks, refilling water jugs, and encouraging patients to drink • Read to patients who may struggle to read themselves or simply enjoy being read to • Notice and support patients who may feel lonely or anxious • Create moments of calm, reassurance, and connection Meet & Greet: • Provide a warm welcome to individuals arriving for the Trust’s pre booked Meet & Greet service. • Offer wheelchair support and escort patients safely to their appointments, clinics or departments. • Ensure all requests are logged and handled in a timely and supportive manner • Provide wheelchair assistance to outpatients and visitors who need help getting to their destination. • Respond proactively to anyone who may appear lost or unsure of where to go. Buggy Driver: • To provide a comprehensive volunteer buggy service for the hospital • Transport outpatients / visitors to departments and wards • To greet & chat with outpatients or visitors on arrival and provide a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere • Undertake visual safety checks at the start of the shift, reporting any issues immediately • To be courteous and considerate to all other road users on hospital grounds and within the hospitalSkills

Availability Details
Can you spare 3–4 hours a week?
We are looking for warm, approachable volunteers to support patients across our wards Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm (last shift begins at 4pm).
We are looking for warm, approachable Desk Guide volunteers who will be based at our information desks to support people coming into the hospital Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:15pm.
