Posted for Brackley Area Volunteer Car Service
We are looking for car drivers living in Brackley or surrounding villages who are willing to take passengers, primarily elderly, who have no other reasonable means of transport, to medical or social care related appointments.
The role is totally flexible and whatever time you are able to give would be welcome. This opportunity will require an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
Due to COVID-19, the service is not permitted to operate currently and the office is closed. However, the car service team are working from home, providing a "telephone service" contacting passengers to ensure they are well, helping to collect prescriptions/shopping where needed, and offering a friendly listening ear.
If you register your interest in being a driver you will be referred to the team, who will keep your details on file. They will make contact again, when the car service resumes operation.
An ability to relate to people, patience, understanding and a clean driving licence.
