Repairer
Posted for Wellingborough Eco Group Community Interest Company
We hold a Repair Café once a month where anyone can bring along broken items and our Repairers will try to fix them. There are no guarantees and we can't always fix everything, but many items can be fixed and their useful life extended. We have tools you can use, although some of our Repairers find it easier to bring their own tool box. We are a friendly bunch and if you want to come along and see us to get an idea of what we do before committing to help, you will be very welcome.Skills
We particularly need people who have experience of fixing electrical and electronic items as this is what we get the most of. You don't necessarily have to be qualified, but you need to have an interest in, and a flair for, fixing things. You don't have to attempt anything you don't know how to fix and you can always work with one of our existing Repairers to help out if you want to learn. For example sometimes it is just a matter of opening up a vacuum cleaner and unblocking it, and sometimes it might be investigating why a TV has no picture, or a toaster only works one side.Details
