Happy@Home Project - Social Events for older people - Volunteers needed

Do you have a couple of hours spare to volunteer in your local community every other week? 

The Happy at Home Project are looking for volunteers to support at a regular breakfast social event for older people on alternate Wednesday mornings.

The event is held at Warwick Court in Daventry and needs volunteers to help serve tea and coffee, take orders, tidy up and chat to residents.

If you like chatting, meeting people, eating cakes or bacon butties (vegetarian options available too!), and generally helping out then this may be for you!

The Happy at Home Project operates in Daventry and across West Northants  and it's aim is to reduce loneliness and isolation for older people. They currently organise regular social events for the elderly in Daventry, Brixworth and Long Buckby and there are plans to establish an event in Kilsby.

If you are in a position to be able to volunteer, it is a great way to give something to your community, help others and make new friends yourself, and can also give you a sense of well being, by knowing that you may make a positive difference to the lives of others.

We have seen how these social events are making such a difference to older people who may have been feeling lonely, and we can only manage to run the events because of such amazing volunteers who are able to spare some of their time and enthusiasm!
