We are excited to be putting together a programme of events across the Daventry District & South Northants throughout the year, and are keen for volunteers to join us who would like to support a social activity in the community.

Each event will last approximately 3 hours. - This includes set up and clean up time. The events are put on for older people although you can be any age to help. Some of the events have an entertainer/afternoon tea focus, whilst others take the form of hand and foot pampering events with refreshments.

The events aim to provide an enjoyable afternoon out for older people in village locations of Daventry and South Northants - to reduce loneliness by facilitating social interaction and involvement. In addition to providing the recipients with information packs and free safety devices to ease peace of mind.

Volunteers are needed for a range of tasks associated with helping the event to run smoothly; helping to set up and to serve teas and coffees, and collecting contact information from attendees at the event. If you like chatting, eating cakes, and generally helping out then this is for you.

Contact us for details of the forthcoming events, or ask to be put on our email list so we can keep you posted re venues, dates etc.

All reasonable expenses to and from the event etc. will be reimbursed. Lifts will be arranged where possible to reduce expenses and support those volunteers who do not have access to transport. You can volunteer on your own, or with friends. This is an ideal opportunity for small groups of volunteers to get involved as well.

Contact Daventry Volunteer Centre now if you would like to volunteer with a group of friends.

No specific skills needed- just an ability serve refreshments and communicate with people.
