Youth Endowment Fund

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) has been launched as part of the Government’s Serious Violence Strategy. The Home Office has made £200 million available over the next ten years to fund and test interventions aiming to prevent young people from being drawn into crime and violence, to build up knowledge of what works to prevent this. The YEF is being run by Impetus, in partnership with the Early Intervention Foundation and Social Investment Business.

In this initial round of funding, grants are available to organisations and community partnerships with a track record of working with young people, to support interventions that target at-risk 10 to 14 year olds across England and Wales and which are designed to prevent later offending.

Interventions need to have a robust and clear theory of change, which explains how these interventions reduce offending and is informed by the available evidence. YEF will evaluate the effectiveness of funded interventions, with the aim of scaling up those that are shown to work, in order to reach more young people.

The application deadline for round one (Preventing youth crime and violence) open call is 23 July 2019 (midday).
