Update from Northamptonshire Community Foundation

NCF took the opportunity to celebrate springtime at historic 78 Derngate with our wonderful donors and friends and to especially celebrate 50 years of community foundations in the UK. The first community foundation was established in Swindon, Wiltshire in 1975. From that single foundation, a national network has grown, ensuring that philanthropy is rooted in place. Together we serve every postcode in the UK. As Northamptonshire Community Foundation, we’re dedicated to serving every corner of our county, ensuring we can provide resources and funding that reach our towns, villages, and countryside.

Since our inception, the generosity of local donors, funders, and partners has enabled us to distribute over £24 million in essential funding to small, community-driven and charities volunteer-led groups across the county.

This year we also want to celebrate outstanding volunteers in our local communities, and we are delighted to have launched the 2025 Rose of the Shire Awards in partnership with North Northamptonshire and West Northamptonshire Councils. Please do nominate someone who goes above and beyond to support their community and help us to say a big  ‘thank you’ during Volunteer’s Week.
