The Sylvia Adams Charitable Trust was established in 1996 in line with the stated wishes of Sylvia Adams, a professional collector of antiques and works of art whose career was at its peak in the 1930s and 1940s. The Trust was endowed with the money from the sale of her personal collection of antiques and works of art and has since been supporting a variety of charitable work in the UK and overseas.
Currently, the Trust offers funding to registered charities for projects that aim to improve the life chances of some of the most disadvantaged children (up to the age of three years) in England and Wales through early intervention and preventative work. The aim of the support is to:
