Sustaining Spaces Fund

Funding to support community spaces for trauma-experienced people and communities.

National Survivors User Network (NSUN) has announced a new fund which will enable the continuation of spaces designed for those of shared identity to come together and support one another’s wellbeing.

To be eligible to apply, groups must:

  • Be facilitating community spaces where people with shared identities and experiences come together in support of one another’s wellbeing.
  • Be benefitting people or communities who live with mental ill-health, trauma and distress.
  • Operate in a community setting.

Applicants can request grants of £500 to £1,000 for costs associated with sustaining their spaces. This could include:

  • Costs for Zoom or other software subscriptions.
  • Rent for space.
  • Tablets or laptops.
  • Refreshments and food for meetings.
  • Masks or other PPE.
  • Materials for activities (eg, art supplies).
  • Publicity costs.
  • Volunteer and group member expenses (eg, travel costs).

Priority will be given to groups that are by and led for young people (aged 18 to 25), LGBTQ+ people or people from racialised communities.

The deadline to apply is 5pm on 16 September 2022.
