Suicide Awareness sessions – September 2025

There will be two free suicide awareness and prevention training sessions, one in-person and the other online to mark World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September.

The sessions are organised for anyone in Northamptonshire aged 18+ (including volunteers or staff of VCFSE organisations, health and social care, staff from North Northamptonshire Council and West Northamptonshire, and local businesses/ workplaces).

Within the sessions, we will briefly explore:

  • Suicide prevention work taking place in Northamptonshire
  • Local and national data
  • Myths and facts
  • Compassionate language and conversation skills
  • Local and national resources/ helplines and signposting
  • Information on further training

For part of the session, learners will be directed to the Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) online training to do some learning activities which we will then reflect on as a group.

There are two sessions, one in person and one on Microsoft Teams, and there is no cost to attend:

  • In-person session on 10th September at Delapre Abbey 11.15am – 12.45pm.
  • Microsoft Teams session on 17th September 10am – 11.15am.

Due to limited spaces, we can allocate a maximum of two places per organisation. Once bookings have been processed, confirmation emails will be sent to learners with the details to access the session. Please note that confirmations will be sent on Friday 29th August.

If you would like to attend either session please complete the booking form, and confirm which session you would like to attend:  Suicide Awareness and Prevention training – Booking Form

If these timings do not work for you, you may be interested in some virtual sessions being run by Zero Suicide Alliance on 10th September.
