Social Enterprise Funding to Promote Financial Resilience to Life Shocks
A new national programme is offering funding and specialist support for UK social entrepreneurs to help them develop bold ideas and sustainable solutions that will help build people’s financial resilience to life shocks.
Mutual life and pensions company Royal London is looking for social enterprises to work with on a new social innovation programme dedicated to creating and investing in ways of building financial resilience to life shocks.
Life shocks are described as major life events which can have a deep and detrimental impact on people’s lives, such as job loss, separation, serious illness or bereavement. They can also include wide scale and prolonged events that can impact entire communities, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, or climate change.
Through its Changemakers programme Royal London will provide funding and support to social entrepreneurs to develop and scale up potential solutions to address the financial impact of life shocks.
In 2021 the programme will provide ten social enterprises and ten individuals with:
- Two years of support, including 1-2-1 expert consultancy and learning sessions with other social entrepreneurs in the same sector.
- A grant of £10,000 to £30,000, with opportunities to access further funding in Years 2 and 3.
- The chance to collaborate and build a relationship with Royal London to work on building resilience for more people facing life shocks.
Applications will be accepted from social entrepreneurs based in the United Kingdom.
The deadline for applications is 1 June 2021.
