Smart Energy GB in Communities Fund
Smart Energy GB, the national campaign for the smart meter rollout, launched the five year Smart Energy GB in Communities Fund in May 2016 with the aim that every home in Britain would be offered a smart meter within five years at no additional cost.
The fund has been set up to support Smart Energy GB’s work to help everyone in Great Britain understand smart meters, the national rollout and how to use the new meters to get their gas and electricity under control.
The funding supports those who might find it difficult to engage with the smart meter rollout.
Two funding streams are available in 2021, each targeting a specific audience:
- Grants for organisations reaching people who are offline.
- Grants for organisations reaching people on a low income.
The application process to become a Smart Energy GB in Communities partner is being run by the charity National Energy Action (NEA).
The deadline for applications is 12 February 2021 (12 noon) with notification of decisions by the end of March 2021.
