Second Round of England’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund
Funding is available for environmental charities and partners in England to kick-start projects to halt the loss of wildlife and address climate change.
The £40 million second round of the Green Recovery Challenge Fund is part of the UK Government’s wider green economic recovery, jobs and skills package.
Environmental charities in England can apply now for grants of between £50,000 and £2 million for projects that contribute to at least one of the following themes:

- Nature-based solutions, particularly for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
- Connecting people with nature.
The Green Recovery Challenge Fund seeks to award grants to environmental charities and their partners across England to create and retain jobs while restoring nature and tackling climate change.
Projects must be ready to deliver and grants spent by 31 March 2023.
The deadline for expressions of interest for grants of between £250,000 and £2 million is noon on 22 March 2021.
The deadline for applications for grants of up to £250,000 is 14 April 2021 (noon).
