Grants are available to small voluntary and community groups for projects working with adults and young people who have mild learning difficulties to live independently.

Applications are accepted from small and locally managed voluntary, community or self-help groups based in Northamptonshire.

To be eligible, groups must have:

  • A set of written rules or constitution that the group adheres to and that contains a dissolution policy.
  • Written procedures for keeping young people and/or vulnerable people safe, otherwise known as a child protection or vulnerable people’s policy.
  • An equality and diversity policy.

Grants are for new or innovative projects supporting young people and adults with mild learning difficulties, particularly where there are gaps in provision.

Examples of eligible project activities include:

  • Employment and education opportunities.
  • Community projects that promote emotional, mental and physical health and wellbeing.
  • Activities that reduce isolation or that provide social activity to prevent loneliness.
  • Activities that use arts, creativity, physical exercise and sport to support health and wellbeing.
  • The next deadline for expressions of interest is 20 June 2022.
  • An online expressions of interest form is available to complete on the Northamptonshire Community Foundation website. Shortlisted organisations will then be invited to an informal interview and funding decisions will be announced by the start of August 2022.
