People’s Postcode Trust’s Community Project Small Grants – Round 2

This is the final funding round for 2020 with applications accepted from across Great Britain for two weeks only, starting from 4 August 2020.

Grassroots organisations, local charities and non-profit community businesses that are seeking to effect positive change within their local area in England, Scotland and Wales can take the first step in the application process by submitting an online expression of interest.

Projects can be up to 12 months in length and must focus on:

  • Promoting human rights.
  • Combatting discrimination.
  • Preventing poverty.

It is likely that projects will be able to relate to multiple theme, and applicants should choose the theme that is most closely related to the intended outcome of their project.

The following changes have been made for this round:

  • The Trust no longer requires projects to be “new projects, or significant expansions of existing projects,” as the Trust will ‘happily re-fund previous projects that have demonstrated success.
  • In addition to project funding, core funding is now available to groups that have been funded by People’s Postcode Trust, or the Postcode Community Trust or the Postcode Local Trust within the last three years (as long as the evaluation requirements have been completed).

Grants range from £500 to £20,000. Only registered charities can apply for grants of up to £20,000. The maximum grant for groups that are not formally registered as a charity is £2,000.

There is a two-stage application process.

Stage 1 applications for Round 2 will be accepted from 4 August to 19 August 2020.
