Oakland Foundation

Grants are available for projects promoting education, health and positive social activities for children under the age of 16 and their families from disadvantaged backgrounds in Worcestershire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.

Oakland International Ltd, a family business established in 1998, is an ‘integrated supply chain specialist’ which provides a multi-temperature service network to food and consumer goods manufacturers and retail brands.

In 2012, it set up the Oakland Foundation, a registered charity based in Redditch, Worcestershire, as part of its corporate social responsibility. Each year, Oakland International provides funding and donates employee hours so that all their staff can support and volunteer for the Foundation.

In 2021, the Oakland Foundation extended its geographical reach beyond Worcestershire to cover England and Wales.

In spring 2022, the Oakland Foundation returned to funding projects based in areas where their main sponsor Oakland International is an integral part of the local community and will thus only consider projects in Worcestershire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.

Funding is intended to support projects targeted at children under the age of 16 years and their families who live in Worcestershire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire. The aim is to create opportunities for children under the following three themes:

  • Education: to ensure children get the best education, no matter their background.
  • Health and nutrition: to ensure children have an awareness of healthy food and lifestyle choices.
  • Sport: to ensure children have access to sport and activities irrespective of social background or physical ability.

Grants can support projects and activities focused on:

  • Education to ensure children get the best education, no matter what their background.
  • Health and nutrition to ensure children have access to healthy food.
  • Sport to ensure children have access to sport and activities irrespective of social background or physical ability.

Applications can be made at any time and will be assessed at Trustee meetings, usually held every four to eight weeks.
