Mick George Community Fund
The Mick George Community Fund is administered by Grantscape and provided by Mick George Ltd through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF), an initiative that allows landfill operators to release tax credits to environmental and community groups. The initiative broadly aims to benefit local communities in the vicinity of a landfill site.
Grants are available for capital improvement works to public amenity projects.
Examples include the following:
- Village halls.
- Village greens.
- Public playgrounds.
- Sports fields and facilities.
- Nature reserves.
- Community centres.
- Cycle paths.
- Country parks.
Projects must be available and open to the general public as a minimum for four evenings a week, or two days a week, or 104 days a year. Projects at schools may be eligible if the general public can benefit from the project and applicants should contact Grantscape to check eligibility before applying.
Applications are assessed on the following main criteria:
- The level of community support for and involvement in the project.
- The local community benefit and enjoyment which will result from the project.
The next deadlines are as follows:
- 29 August 2025 (decisions are expected to be communicated by the end of October 2025).
- 25 February 2026 (decisions are expected to be communicated by the end of April 2026).
