Localgiving to hand out £550,000 to sports initiatives
Localgiving has announced details of its latest Magic Little Grants Fund, where it hands out £500 grants to small charities and community groups that promote sports and exercise.
The online donations platform will distribute the money to groups and charities with an annual income of less than £250,000 who inspire people to take part in sports and fitness.
The Magic Little Grants Fund 2019 is paid for through a £550,000 award from the Postcode Community Trust. Successful organisations will also receive a free annual membership with Localgiving.
This is the largest amount distributed through the Fund, which launched in 2017 and handed out £215,000 to 430 small charities and groups last year.
“We’re extremely grateful to the players of People’s Postcode Lottery who have continued their support of our Magic Little Grants Fund,” said Localgiving Managing Director Chris Dormer.
“Since launching in 2017, we’ve supported 635 community projects and invested over £315,000 into local communities to help people to get more active. This year we will more than double this figure with our largest programme to date.
“In addition to accessing a grant through our simple online application process, organisations that are new to Localgiving will benefit from an annual membership with Localgiving, also funded by Postcode Community Trust. This will enable them to access our wider online fundraising services and help them to raise additional funding towards their work.”
The Magic Little Grants 2019 deadline is 30 November, 2019.
