Funding is available for underrepresented UK documentary storytellers to help them reach diverse audiences or to foster closer connections and amplify the work of grassroots nonfiction champions.
A new National Lottery funded initiative that enables and empowers communities, networks and organisations to build their own inclusive vision for the independent UK documentary sector is inviting applications.
The goal of the fund is to expand its outreach and support programme by identifying, fostering and supporting the work of independent groups, individuals and organisations who are building communities and opportunities for documentary locally or have a great plan in mind to do so.
Applications will be accepted from UK-based non-profit organisations, and individuals who are over 18 and not in full-time education.
Grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 are available, covering up to 100% of project costs.
The fund will support projects that have a maximum budget of £60,000. Projects must be completed by 31 March 2022.
The deadline for applications is 13:00 BST on 10 June 2021.
