Important information regarding SNC grant funding
South Northamptonshire Council is keen to hear organisations’ views on their proposals to broaden the availability of Community Grant funding in 2019/20. The aim is to ensure the maximum benefit to South Northamptonshire communities, before the SNC grant schemes close at the end of March 2020.
Since SNC set up the New Homes Bonus Local Community Grants (NHBLCG) fund in 2011, £2.25 million has already been spent or committed on community projects throughout South Northamptonshire. With one year of the scheme left to run (2019/20), £1.34 million remains to be committed and the budget for 2019-20 will be added to the aggregated underspends.
There are three elements to the proposals:
- Remove the geographical ‘ring-fences’ around New Homes Bonus Local Community Grant (NHBLCG) funding, in order to make it more widely available.
- Clarify the restriction on funding ‘County Responsibilities’, to assist community projects that may involve NCC land and facilities.
- Ask potential applicants what other amendments to our grants might help achieve their community ambitions.
The consultation period will last until 10 December 2018. Any changes will take effect from 01 April 2019.
The consultation is now live on the SNC website and can be accessed via the ‘Have Your Say’ page https://www.southnorthants.gov.uk/consultation
If you are unable to read and fill in the consultation online and you require a paper copy, please call SNC Community Services on 01295 221980.
