Idlewild Trust (Art conservation)

The Idlewild Trust gives grants to UK Registered Charities for projects concerning the conservation of objects and artworks, and projects that aim to nurture young arts professionals. The average amount awarded by the trust in 2024 was is £6,437.

The first grant making strand of the Idlewood Trust aims to support training opportunities for professionals, working creatively within the performing and visual arts, at an early stage in their careers.

The second grant making strand of the Idlewood Trusts concerns the conservation and preservation of publicly viewable artworks and objects that are of cultural and/or historical significance.

The trust helpfully provides a comprehensive guidance which can be accessed on their website. Please do read this guidance carefully before applying, as there are several exclusions that could make your project ineligible.

There are two funding deadlines per year, one in February and one in September, Decisions will be advised in June and December.
