Home Office’s Anti-Knife Crime Community Fund
Voluntary organisations in England and Wales that want to apply for this funding will need to hurry as the deadline for applications is 24 July 2019.
The Home Office set up the Anti-Knife Crime Community Fund in October 2017 as part of its knife, gun and gang crime policy. The Fund was set up to support community projects that are delivered by voluntary sector organisations which tackle knife crime.
The funding is intended to help communities to respond to the challenges around knife crime, and in particular support activities to preventing young people from engaging in knife related offending.
A total of £1.5 million is being made available in 2019/20. The maximum grant available is £30,000 for single projects that are completed by 30 March 2020.
Bids will need to demonstrate a previous proven history of delivering anti-knife crime work, especially to young people, and will be assessed on the basis of the extent to which they demonstrate a proven track record of an organisation’s ability to deliver knife crime interventions in work with children and young people.
Voluntary sector organisations in England and Wales can apply, including:
- Constituted voluntary and community sector groups that have a minimum of three management committee members.
- Registered charities.
- Social enterprises.
- Co-operatives.
- Community interest companies.
- Religious / faith groups.
- Companies limited by guarantee without share capital.
- Charitable incorporated organisations.
This funding is NOT available for local authorities, statutory agencies including police forces and schools.
The deadline for applications is 24 July 2019 (midnight).
