Gift Aid Awareness Day
This year’s Gift Aid Awareness Day will be held on Thursday, 9 October and Charity Finance Group (CFD) is urging charities to get involved by spreading the #TickTheBox message far and wide, on social media and in charity retail stores.
We know that Gift Aid is vital to charities and enables organisations to do so much more. Whatever your charity’s purpose, we want Gift Aid Awareness Day to be the day you remind your supporters how important it is to #TickTheBox.
Every penny counts
In July 2025, the government published its annual charity tax relief statistics. The figures show that the amount of Gift Aid claimed had increased by 7% this year to £1.7bn, with over 67,000 organisations now receiving Gift Aid – great news! However, there are over 170,000 registered charities in the UK, which means many will be missing out on valuable income.
We want every eligible charity to make the most of this vital tax relief, and reduce the roughly £560m worth of Gift Aid that goes unclaimed every year.
