Funding to Support the Increase of Canoeing
Clubs and community groups across the UK that want to increase participation in canoeing can apply now for a grant to support their project in 2020.
The grant funding is for projects that will improve accessibility to waterways and facilities thereby enabling greater use of them. There is particular interest in enabling enhanced participation in paddle sports for all people.
In each of its quarterly funding round, the Canoe Foundation focuses on supporting projects in a certain priority area.
The current focus is on:
- Increasing and protecting public access points, steps or platforms.
- Improving the suitability of launching and landing sites, to and alongside water, for all sectors of the community.
Although clubs and community groups can apply for grants of between £2,000 and £10,000, most grants awarded are in the 2,500 to £5,000 range.
The first application deadline in 2020 is 28 February.
