Funding to Support Holiday Provision for Disadvantaged Children
Schools, youth groups, not-for-profit organisations and charities can apply for grants of £500 to £2,500 to fund recreational holidays or outings for groups of children who would otherwise not be able to access such opportunities.
Funding is available to organisations working with children aged 13 or under who are experiencing disadvantage or have disabilities and are living in an area of high deprivation, with priority being given to those living in the 20% most deprived areas in the UK.
Grants can be used towards a single trip, which could be a day trip or a longer residential of up to seven days in length in any UK location provided it is outside of the children’s immediate locality. Examples include camping, trips to adventure activity centres or the seaside.
There are four rounds of applications each year. The submission dates vary depending on when trips or holidays take place.
All applications should be received at least six weeks before the date of the trip.
For holidays to be taken between now and the end of December, the deadline for applications is 16 November 2019.
