Funding for Cycling Equipment and Facilities in England
Not-for-profit organisations in England can apply for grants to support the development of new cycling facilities or to improve existing cycling facilities in their communities.
The £15 million three-year Places to Ride programme is designed to support a lasting legacy from the 2019 UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire and to ensure that the championships have a far-reaching and lasting impact on cycling participation across the country.
The key objectives of the programme are to:
- Inspire people to ride.
- Connect the community
- Build a lasting legacy.
The funding will support small-medium scale facility improvements or equipment through to large-scale new build facilities across all types of cycling.
There are two levels of funding:
- Small grants of between £1,000 and £50,000. It is expected that the average grant will be much less than £50,000.
- Larger grants of up to £500,000.
The funder is looking for organisations that ‘really understand’ cycling in their local community. Applications will be accepted from not-for-profit organisations located in England.
Applications can be submitted at any time until 15 January 2021.
