First Details of BBC Children in Need’s We Move: Youth Social Action Fund
Funding for Black-led organisations working with children and young people in the UK.
As part of its Sharing Power (Youth Social Action) Programme, BBC Children in Need has announced a £1 million funding pot focused on reaching Black children and young people with social action opportunities.
Youth social action describes the activities that children and young people do to make a positive difference, drive change in their communities, and in the world around them.
The fund sits alongside the £3 million Youth Social Action Fund, for projects working with children and young people experiencing disadvantage, without a specific target group.
To apply to the We Move: Youth Social Action Fund, groups must be working with children and young people, at least 50% of whom self-identify as Black. This encompasses Black African, Caribbean, Afro-Latinx descent, or Black with mixed heritage.
Full details of the new fund are expected in the coming months.
Organisations can register their interest on the BBC Children in Need website.
