Voluntary Sector Support Officer
20 hours per week
£20,202 pro rata + pension contribution

Nene Valley Community Action is seeking a Voluntary Sector Support Officer to support and help sustain local voluntary and community-based organisations in the Borough of Wellingborough. You should be an approachable and creative person with the ability to communicate with a wide range of organisations from small start up groups to large charities.

The post will involve assisting new and established groups to increase their capacity through support, advice and by providing effective networking events and training opportunities. Keeping up to date with local, regional and national issues relating to front line organisations including changes to legislation is key to this role.

Volunteers are vital to local groups and the Officer will be expected to support groups with volunteer management and promotion as well as undertaking volunteer interviews with members of the public.

Excellent literacy and IT skills are an essential requirement of this post together with the ability to be a good communicator, the confidence to speak in public and to be able to prepare reports as necessary.

Whilst being part of the NVCA team and being based in Rushden, this post is essentially working on your own initiative, in the Borough of Wellingborough therefore confidence and the ability to manage time is important.

This post is initially a 15 month fixed term contract and is then subject to continuing funding of the organisation.
