Drax Foundation Community Fund
Grants are available for registered charities and formally constituted non-profit organisations to improve equitable access to STEM education, nature and community green spaces, and measures to address fuel poverty and energy-efficiency in areas of Scotland and England where Drax operates (including Northampton).
The Drax Foundation is the charitable entity of renewable energy company Drax Group (Drax), which operates in the UK, USA and Canada.
Drax owns and operates a portfolio of flexible, low-carbon and renewable UK power assets – biomass, hydro, and pumped storage generation – which provide dispatchable power and system support services to the electricity grid.
Drax is the UK’s largest source of renewable power by output, and Drax Power Station is the UK’s largest single source of renewable electricity by output.
Established in 2023, the Foundation provides grant funding for non-profit organisations that share the Drax commitment to improving equitable access to STEM education, community green spaces, and renewable energy.
The funding is for organisations with projects that contribute to at least one of Community Fund’s focus areas:
- Education, life skills and employability
- Physical and mental health, well-being and community safety
- Youth programmes
- Essential community services
- Improving community buildings and public spaces.
