Co-op Community Dividend Fund for Central England Accepting Applications
The fund has opened a new round and is currently accepting applications from 16 counties from the Midlands to the east coast.
The Co-op Community Dividend Fund is inviting applications from local charities and community and voluntary groups based in Central England to apply for grants of up to £5,000.
Each year the Fund reinvests at least 1% of the Society’s profits in local communities to help a wide range of projects across 16 counties, from the Midlands to the East Coast. Last year, a total of 122 groups and organisations shared £209,000 to spend on a wide variety of projects.
Recent projects that have shared a £52,000 funding pot include the installation of special interactive screens for an astronomy society, equipment for a local Scouts group and new raised beds for a community allotment. The Fund’s aim is to develop and improve local communities, offering much needed support with grants of between £100 and £5,000, with the average grant awarded being around £2,000.
Applicants must have been a Central England Co-operative member for at least six months and their project’s postcode must be within the trading area of a Central England Co-operative store. Priority will be given to organisations which can demonstrate that they, or their project, actively participates with the Society by trading with it or being involved with its activities or democratic processes.
The funding is for projects in Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Suffolk, Warwickshire, West Midlands, West Yorkshire or Worcestershire.
The next deadline for applications is 27 July 2018.
