Brackley Area Volunteer Car Service helping around the local area

Brackley Community Larder regularly distribute up to 200 food boxes to Brackley and surrounding villages. Brackley Area Volunteer Car Service drivers were overwhelming with their response to help in this task. They go to Brackley Leisure Centre where their vehicles are loaded and from where they spread out to deliver to those in need. All contact free of course.

The Car service is also continuing with regularly contacting their passengers by phone to check that they are well and whether they need anything. Prescription collection and shopping are also continuing.

BAVCS is also working with a group called Brackley Elves to provide Christmas boxes of festive goodies to each of the care homes and assisted living facilities around Brackley. This initiative is supported by both Waitrose and Tesco.

It is at times like this you realise just how valuable our volunteers are and how pulling together benefits everyone within the community.
