Baring Foundation – Strengthening the Voluntary Sector Programme
The Baring Foundation is an independent charitable foundation that aims to improve the quality of life for disadvantaged people by making grants to strengthen voluntary sector support organisations.
The Foundation believes in the value of an independent voluntary sector, and through the experience gained from previous funding rounds, feels that organisations’ independence is increasingly coming under pressure. Through their Strengthening the Voluntary Sector (STVS) programme, the Foundation aims to specifically fund the independence of advice and advocacy organisations, whose purpose is to support people in securing their legal rights and entitlements.
This programme supports effective use of the law and human rights based approaches by the voluntary sector in the United Kingdom. It is a collaboration with the Legal Education Foundation and this year with the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
This call is intended for civil society organisations with specific and demonstrable legal expertise in tackling discrimination and disadvantage.
The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 5 November 2018 (9am).
