Accelerating Reform Fund, Unpaid Carer Project

Working in partnership with North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) and Integrated Care Board (ICB), we are embarking on a ‘roadshow of community events’ for Carers over the next year, funded by the Accelerating Reform Fund.

The purpose of this roadshow is to help Carers supporting people with disabilities and long term health conditions to identify themselves as ‘Carers’ and to encourage them to come forward for support and information. This is to help Carers keep themselves both mentally and physically well and to help prevent them from becoming isolated without help and support.

Even if you are already receiving support from ANY organisation as a Carer, we hope you will still find value and updated information at these events so please DO NOT be put off attending. They are Drop In sessions, please stay for as little or as long as you wish, no need to book just turn up anytime.

Our purpose is to inform you on the following:

Where to go for help
Benefits support & signposting
Information on Carers Assessments
Information on equipment
Localised groups and activities for Carers to help keep you active and engaged
Specialist information on Dementia
Specialist information on caring for someone with a life limiting condition
Specialist information for parents looking after children with SEN (Special educational needs)
Long term conditions such as diabetes, heart failure, breathing difficulties, sickle cell etc.
What happens after your caring roles ceases
Minority groups such as LGBTQ+, Travellers, Ethnic minority groups and more
Help to access on-line training
Help for Carers who are juggling a caring role with working commitments
And anything else YOU want to ask us…….
