The Football Foundation – Grass Pitch Maintenance
A six-year tapered grant is available to enhance or sustain grass football pitches to at least GMA (Grounds Management Association) ‘Good’ standard. Funding can support contractor works and materials such as slitting, scarification, decompaction, weed treatment, fertiliser, overseeding, topdressing and soil sampling but not routine grass cutting, line marking, machinery purchase/repairs, staffing or facility hire.
Eligible applicants include grassroots clubs, leagues, charities, education sites with community use, town/parish councils with football clubs on council-owned sites, clubs within the National League Systems and the Women’s Football Pyramid. Applicants must have appropriate security of tenure and a completed a recent PitchPower Pitch Assessment report prior to applying.
Grants fall into two categories – Enhance or Sustain.
Depending on pitch size and the Pitch Assessment you can apply for a grant of between £3,200 – £1,920 per pitch for the Enhance programme or £960 – £384 per pitch for the Sustain programme.
