Co-op Community Dividend Fund

Grants are available to not-for-private profit organisations that are a full member of Central England’s Co-operative for projects that support access to food, health and wellbeing, inclusion and the environment in communities across the central region of England.

The Central England Co-operative serves local communities across England by putting 1% of its trading profit back into the community, making cash awards to help local causes and make a positive difference.

Funding is for projects that aim to support access to food, health and wellbeing, inclusion and the environment.

Beneficiaries must be communities in which Central England Co-operative trades. Applicants should clearly demonstrate the benefit to the community. All projects must be consistent with Co-operative values and principles.

Following a recent revamp of the fund, projects now need to align with at least one of the following areas:

  • Access to food – improving access to food in a way that encourages healthy, balanced choices to be made.
  • Health and wellbeing – projects that directly or indirectly promote physical and mental health and wellbeing.
  • Inclusion projects – directly or indirectly support greater inclusion of vulnerable, excluded, or hard to reach groups.
  • Environment – inside and outside spaces that support increased sustainability, eg energy saving projects, sustainable travel, biodiversity and food security.

Applications are now considered every two months. The next deadline for applications is 26 May 2023.

Guidance notes and an online application form are available on the Co-operative’s website.
