Mick George Sports Fund
Grants are available for local sports clubs or organisations that specialise in improving the health and well-being of people through participation in sport and physical activity in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.
The Mick George Sports Fund is made available through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF) and is run in association with Living Sport and Northamptonshire Sport, organisations that specialise in improving the health and well-being of people through participation in sport and physical activity.
The funding is intended to support projects which promote and provide sport and physical activity to the general public around Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
The funding will support capital community sports projects or developments that are open to the general public as a minimum for four evenings a week, or two days a week, or 104 days a year.
Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Changing room improvements.
- Clubhouse renovations.
- Training and practice provisions.
- Facility maintenance
- Equipment
There are two funding rounds per year. The application deadlines for 2023 are as follows:
- 22 March 2023 (5pm)
- 20 September (5pm)
