Over 1 tonne of surplus food saved from going to waste at Silverstone MotoGP

Following their success in saving 7 tonnes of surplus food from the British Grand Prix, volunteers from Towcester and Roade Community Larders joined forces again to collect the food surplus from the Moto GP at Silverstone last weekend.

Despite attendance at the event being lower than last year, 1.3 tonnes of food surplus was collected and distributed to the community following a pop up larder at Towcester Town Football Supporters Club. Northamptonshire Police also donated their surplus sandwiches from the event.

Established in January 2021, snvb Food is a community larder network that partner with local supermarkets, businesses and food surplus providers to reduce food waste and distribute affordable food throughout the community. We welcome EVERYONE, with our main ethos being to REDUCE FOOD WASTE.

Our Larders, located in Towcester and Roade, offer membership to EVERYONE. Full details can be found on our website. We also work closely with Brackley and Bugbrooke to ensure we cover all of South Northamptonshire.
