Youth Education Volunteer (Northampton)

We are looking for people who are positive about young people and believe that they can make a difference. The workshops we deliver for young people aged 10-19 to help them to understand, cope with and respond to crisis. The workshops cover a range of topics including first aid, empathy, migration and more. We would like you to volunteer: One morning or one afternoon a week Monday to Friday – 9am to 5pm For at least 9 months Ideally you will live within roughly 1 hour travelling time of the workshop location. Please note as part of this role you will be expected to travel to venues to deliver workshops. This may include carrying light weight equipment or learning materials. If you have previous experience that’s great, but we can give full training and support if you are passionate about this and want to get involved.Skills
Able to communicate effectively with young people. Good listening, communication and teamwork skills. Responsible, organised, reliable and able to work independently. Adaptable and willing to try new learning methods. Passionate about exploring humanitarian issues and values. Committed to developing young people’s skills and abilities. Recognise the value of equality and supportive of equality and diversity. Ideally able to lead a 2 – 4 hour session each fortnight usually on weekdays between 9am and 5pm, with occasional weekends or evenings.Details
