As a Volunteer Social Media Assistant you will play a crucial role in raising the profile of Stowe House.
This is a fantastic role if you are interested in marketing and social media as well as passionate about heritage and history more broadly. If you are creative and enthusiastic about developing exciting content this is the role for you.
The Volunteer Social Media Assistant helps to develop content for social media streams - uploading and scheduling updates. The platforms used include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and TripAdvisor along with other community network sites. There are also opportunities for you to get involved in writing content and taking photographs of things going on in the House.
This role is vital to raise the internet profile of the property and to bring Stowe House in line with other historic properties.
Duties include:
Scheduling updates regarding House opening, events, specialist tours and restoration projects.
Being creative and developing new ideas and ways to highlight Stowe House
Researching social media trends and hashtags.
Researching the social media of other Historic Houses and popular pages to discover what more we can do.
Collecting information from around the departments for social media updates.
- Improving the social media photo albums by collecting and uploading new images along with writing accurate descriptions.

Skills
A team player, who likes getting involved and also able to work alone when required.
Ideally with an interest in social media, historic houses and with good IT skills.
