Are you passionate about supporting young people to progress to their full potential? Do you want to develop new skills in coaching? If this is you, then Grit would love to hear from you!
Coaching for Success is a Grit programme that has been delivered in schools across the country for over 17 years. It is aimed at supporting 14 and 15 year-old pupils to achieve their full potential in education and in life using a combination of personal development and coaching.
They are excited to be able to tell you about a new Coaching for Success programme that will be delivered to pupils at two secondary schools in Northamptonshire and to offer you the amazing opportunity to coach a young person for 6 months.
Below is a link to a video on the website, providing more information about becoming a volunteer at Grit:
You will receive a FREE training in Grit's life coaching methodology and will have the chance to meet other local volunteers who share your passion for supporting young people.
They will DBS check you and will be able to provide a reference and certificate for you once you've finished coaching.
They are looking for volunteers who are 21+ yrs and want to be Performance Coaches on this programme for 6 months and take on coaching 2 or 3 pupils at DSLV (Danetre and Southbrook Learning Village) and/or Northampton Academy.
Training dates: You will need to commit to the full weekend of 14th/15th April 2018 More information on the programme, commitments or training, available.
What does it take to be a successful performance coach? They are looking for coaches who can:
• Be role models
• Keep their word
• Support young people in discovering their potential – not try and do the programme for them
• Hold young people accountable
• See what is possible for young people. However, the most important criteria is that you are willing to engage in training and are committed to the young people.
