• Can you identify designer and "good" brands?

If so you could be an asset to the British Heart Foundation charity shop- helping them to sort clothes donations. All donated clothes are checked for imperfections, missing buttons, tears and holes etc.

As a stock processor you would be responsible for sorting the clothes into categories based on their likely resale value. The resale value is largely dicated by manufacturers label. 

You would not need to be involved in tagging or pricing.

You can volunteer to do this work anytime during the week or weekend with the exception of Tuesday.

Whilst volunteering in our shops you can work towards a Duke of Edinburgh's Award or even gain an NVQ in retail

We are now ‘Approved Activity Provider’ for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE). This means that young people can work towards their Bronze, Silver or Gold DofE by volunteering in our Shops

This academic year BHF Shops and dedicated Furniture & Electrical Stores have already awarded 750 NVQs to staff and volunteers in England and Wales and still have more working towards the qualification.  (optional)

Skills

An eye for detail is required and an aptitude for determining whether the item is saleable.
