Marshalls, timers, registration clerks needed for the NEW DAVENTRY Park run
Posted for Daventry Park Run
This is a great opportunity to be involved in the Daventry Park Run which started in 2013. The Daventry park run gives runners of all abilities the opportunity to make 9am Saturday mornings their run time.
All levels of runner are welcome to get involved.
Parkrun is a national initiative which aims to provide free, weekly, timed 5km running events in local communities every Saturday morning. Parkrun events are organised entirely by volunteers, without whom there would be no parkrun.
To help us with this initiative we are looking for a pool of volunteers
You could help with any of the following tasks:
- Timer: Responsible for operating the timing device
- Registration: Responsible for scanning the finish positions and the runners barcode ID
- Numbers: Handling out the position tokens to all runners as they cross the finish line
- Marshall: Guiding and encouraging the runners around the course
You don't need to be a runner to volunteer, just someone who may have an hour or two spare every other Saturday morning who we can call upon to help with the coordination and smooth running of the event. All parkrun volunteers will receive training.
Volunteering at parkruns is fun, rewarding and provides a great social experience.
Apply now and we wil put you in touch with the local organiser so you can get more details
An interest in sport would be beneficial.
