Would you like to help people in your community? Can you give up some free time? Do you want to learn essential life saving skills? Do you hold a full, clean driving licence? Are you in reasonably good health?
Community First Responders (CFRs) are now playing a vital role in the emergency care. They are just ordinary members of the public who have been trained by the ambulance service to deliver life-saving skills in their local areas pending the arrival of an ambulance. For patients experiencing cardiac arrest, every second counts. For every minute that passes without defibrillation, a person's chances of survival can decrease by up to 10%. Are you up for the challenge?
Skills
A Community First Aider needs to be extremely reliable and trustworthy, good under pressure, able to remain calm in emergency situations, be caring when dealing with patients and have a good level of physical fitness.
