Local Group Coordinator
Posted for WaterAid
WaterAid transforms lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities. They work with partners and influence decision-makers to maximise impact.
Local Groups bring the work that WaterAid does to life in all corners of the country. They are made up of people who are passionate about ending the water, sanitation and hygiene crisis and who want to take action in their local communities, by raising funds and awareness, acting as local ambassadors.
WaterAid asks groups to:
- Plan and hold their own events;
- Raise awareness on World Water Day;
- Campaign and collect petitions;
- Generate local publicity, and to inspire other groups in their area to get involved by talking to local schools, churches etc.
Running a WaterAid Local Group is a fun and fulfilling role with a global impact. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people in your community and gain new skills, all while taking a stand for some of the world’s most marginalised people. It can be a busy role, especially around certain parts of the year, so you would need to be willing to dedicate an hour or two a week. If you are a natural communicator, comfortable leading meetings and have good organisational skills, please get in touch.
You will be fully supported by the WaterAid Community Fundraising team, especially as your new group find its feet. They will always be on hand to provide fundraising advice, useful resources and words of encouragement.
Skills
