Hazard Alley Volunteer
Posted for The Safety Centre (Hazard Alley) Ltd
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and flexible volunteers who are available Term Time and enjoy working with primary school children..
As one of our volunteers, you’re part of a close-knit community, all with a common goal – to use education to save lives.
You’ll help us deliver our dynamic safety sessions with the Safety Centre team to young people and all we ask for is your time, a positive attitude and an interest in developing your own skills.
You can do this in one of two ways – either by becoming a tour guide in Hazard Alley or by being a guide answering the children’s emergency calls. We’ll provide you with the training you need, and complete the relevant disclosure checks.
As a tour guide you will have a group of 1 – 6 children to teach them about Health and safety by guiding them around our interactive village. You will teach them how to keep safe in a range of different scenarios which they will take with them into everyday life.
The different scenarios will teach them about fire safety, home safety, making choices, road safety, railway safety, safe places to cross the road, water safety, bullying, internet safety and personal safety.
For example, in our road safety scenario you will teach the children how to cross the road safely and how they should always wear their helmet when out on a bike.
ONE SESSION OF 2.5 HOURS PER WEEK OR MORE IF YOU LIKE!
