Greenbelt Festival Stewards - Boughton House near Kettering
Posted for Greenbelt
We are looking for Volunteer Festival Stewards to help at this amazing event!
This summer, over August Bank Holiday weekend (that’s Friday 26 to Monday 29 August 2022 inclusive), Greenbelt Festival makes a return to its beautiful Boughton House site (near Kettering in Northamptonshire) after two, long cancelled years away, due to the pandemic.
You’ve probably not heard of us. Some have called us “the best festival you’ve never heard of”. But we’re busy selling tickets and planning a festival for 12,000 or so for four days of artistry, activism and belief for what will be our 49th edition! (That’s right: we’re almost 50 years old.)
We’re looking for festival stewards this year. They’re the wonderful people who keep our festival moving and working – safely and enjoyably – for everyone. We couldn’t do what we do without them.
Being a steward;
As a festival steward you’ll get:
- a free ticket to the whole festival
- a daily meal voucher allowance
- free showers
- access to our Volunteer Lounge (free tea, coffee and biscuits)
- discounts on festival tees, drinks and Guide
- all the briefing and support you’ll need to do your role
In return, you’ll do two split shifts each day, totally not more than seven hours in any one day. And we need our stewards to be onsite from Thursday afternoon – 25th August.
Best of all, we can guarantee that you’ll be joining a warm, friendly and inclusive community – people you’ll feel right at home with.
The nature of stewarding could mean that you will spend much of your shift on your feet, and you will be out in all weather conditions. So, if stewarding is not for you then please check out our other volunteering roles here.
We’ve got a great bill emerging (checkit out).
Greenbelt is lovingly planned and curated by a very small core staff team who work together with an amazing volunteer community to then deliver the festival itself. Hence why we call it a ‘handmade festival’. Greenbelt is quite literally the work of many, many hands. And with the cost of living biting ever deeper, volunteering offers a great way forpeople to experience without shelling out for a ticket.
The nature of stewarding could mean that you will spend much of your shift on your feet, and you will be out in all weather conditions, so you will need the ability to do this along with a friendly and helpful attitude!
