Would you like to be part of a Towcester Repair Café ?

At snvb we are interested in setting up a Repair Café here in Towcester. The concept originated in Holland in response to the throw away society we live in and is about repairing what we can, rather than throwing things away and buying new.

Right now everything seems to be costing more and more and we thought it might be a good time to think about saving those pennies where we can.

We are planning to visit Wolverton and see how their repair café works and see if it might be something we could set up and run here in Towcester.

The idea would be to repair small electrical items such as laptops or coffee machines, small furniture and clothes.

In order to do this we would be looking for volunteers with some spare time and the skills to help people repair the items they bring in. We have a couple of possible venues in mind, the offer of support and some ideas about where we might apply for funding….but what we REALLY need to know is if there are folk in Towcester and the surrounding areas who would be interested in getting involved in a repair café as either a volunteer or member.
