The Macmillan Information and Support Centre

Northampton General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support have worked together to develop the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre at Northampton General Hospital. Our centre is staffed by a Macmillan cancer information and support lead, a Macmillan support worker and a Macmillan Health & Wellbeing coordinator. We are also supported by trained volunteers, some of whom have a personal cancer experience.

We offer a free, confidential service to anyone living with cancer, their relatives, friends and carers, and anyone that may have lost a loved one. We can also help with:

• Information and support on all aspects of living with cancer,
• Emotional and practical support including one to one sessions
• Signposting to support groups and local services
• Access to complementary therapies like Reiki
• Access to our health and wellbeing events
• Access to benefits advice including our weekly citizens
• Advice clinic and information on Macmillan grants
• Answering any questions you may have

We host a number of health and wellbeing events and workshops throughout the year. You can pick up a copy of our event prospectus or access it online…

We have a dedicated YouTube channel with a range of videos presented by healthcare professionals to provide additional information and advice. You can find our channel by searching ‘The Northants Cancer Information hub’ in YouTube.
