Net Zero West Northamptonshire
West Northamptonshire Council has commissioned research on climate change. The research will be used to provide evidence for the development of the West Northamptonshire Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan will set out a vision for the future development of the area up to 2050.
One aspect of the research is focused on exploring the various ways in which significant reductions in carbon emissions could be achieved in West Northamptonshire. This will form part of the evidence base for planning policies within the emerging Strategic Plan.
The survey includes a high-level summary of initial work which has been carried out to understand the type of changes which would be needed to meet the local equivalent of the UK’s net zero emissions target by 2050 for West Northamptonshire as a whole.
The purpose of this survey is:
- to gather information on action which is planned by different organisations across West Northamptonshire to reduce carbon emissions so that this can be incorporated within the research
- to gather the views of stakeholders on key opportunities and challenges for reducing carbon emissions
- to gather suggestions for ways in which planning policy could better support reductions in carbon emissions in the area

Completion of this survey is voluntary. The findings from this survey will be used for research purposes only. Personal data is requested, including name and contact details. This data will be used by the research team and will be passed on to West Northamptonshire Council so that you can be included in future communications and consultation regarding Council policy. The data will not be passed on to any other organisations. We may report information gathered in this survey in a way which is attributable to individual organisations. However, should you wish to respond anonymously, you can specify that at the end of the survey. We will store any information that you share with us securely, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations.
